Tomorrow's The Day!

Tomorrow is the day that I leave for two weeks to New Mexico! I'll be updating this blog everyday to share with you all my adventures! I don't even have to worry about my fish this time as my dad's friend will be living in our house while we are away to take care of them and so he can do is paperwork in peace.

We intend to follow Route 66, well the best of our abilities to whats left of it anyways, all the way to New Mexico. We have lots of sight seeing things to do along the way and cute diners to eat at so I'm super excited.

On my last night here I'm off the movies to see Monsters University with some co workers! I've wanted to see this movie since I heard it was coming out. Oh, how I love kids movies.

My fish like bread?

Today after I got home from work I decided to make myself a chicken sandwich. When I opened up the bread and took a slice it was torn in half with the middle taken out of it. I questioned my dad about it and he said he wanted to see if the fish liked bread, so he took out the center of the slice and put the rest back into the bag. They must like it because they ate it all up! What he intends to do with the rest of the bread, I have no idea. Maybe he'll feed it to them on another day.

My life at work.

I thought I'd enjoy a nice day off work today, but like every day I got called in. I decided to go since I only had 4 shifts this week and I'd be away for most the summer so..why not, right? Anyways, I work in fast food and it sucks. Making pitas and pouring coffee for the Timmies addicts, not the best time of my life. Only upside is that I love my co workers and we like to have fun. Tonight I found a box that used to hold cloths which had a hole at the front of it. I decided it would be fun to put it over my head, pretend I was an astronaut  and that it was my space helmet. My co worker covered the hole with saran wrap to make it look more "realistic".  Needless to say it was a failed effort.

I know it's bad to text at work, but aslong as we get our work done it's not too bad! My boyfriend decided to text me about his "past life", he had quite the story. I told him to be careful since he has lots of scars he recently got from burning himself on the oven or cutting himself doing dishes. ( He was doing dishes and a glass broke and cut through his finger.) He claims that they are "battle wounds" from his past life. I think he watches too much Tobuscus.

Speaking of injuring yourself, I'm always on grill at work because I don't have to talk to people and I enjoy it. I messed up the nerves in my middle finger on my left hand from holding the paddles, not really sure how I managed to do that. But last week I managed to burn my pinky while I was cleaning the grill and it really hurt. Every day we have a new goal for individuals in order to earn points where we can exchange for free meals or gift cards, mine today was to not burn myself on the grill.

Day at the beach!

Today I went to the beach for the first time this year and we were the only people in the water. It's almost July and it still felt like we were swimming in ice cold water. Regardless we wanted to pretend it was summer weather and went in anyways. But not for too long! Half an hour later we got back out and set search for lunch. We went to a restaurant called Jalapeno's and it was delicious. We shared poutine, crazy cries and tacos.

Later we walked down the street and went shopping I just got a pair of flip flops since a cat decided to attack mine and leave lovely bite marks all over them haha. We headed back for the beach where we went in for a few minutes, it wasn't so cold but still cold enough not many people were in. Oh well, maybe another time it will finally warm up and it will be more enjoyable!

Drink, drank, drunk.

Trying new things is something I love to do especially when it comes to food and drinks. Two drinks I've tried this week are two drinks I think I can manage without drinking again. The first one is an Arizona drink which my boyfriend got me hooked on. 99 cents for a giant drink? I think that's a good deal. I loove mangos and I saw a flavour called "Mucho Mango" which I haven't seen around before so I decided to give it a go. On my first sip it had a really weird taste and an even weirder aftertaste. I cannot explain it but it did not taste like mango, unfortunately. It wasn't what I was expecting but It was still enjoyable. (:

The second drink I tried was tonight when I went to work and discovered we had a new flavour of smoothie can't remember the name of it but it was made of cucumbers, pineapples and honey dew with lemon juice, lime juice and pineapple juice. Needless to say, not a very common smoothie. Being adventurous I decided to give it a go. First sip and I wasn't impressed, you have to be a lover of cucumber to enjoy this one, it's about all you can taste. After a couple sips I decided I couldn't drink it and passed it on to someone else. It wasn't a drink for me but if you like cucumbers definitely try it out, it's very healthy for you! (:

Smash tournament? Science centre? Yup.

So on saturday I went to Impulse videogame tournament with my boyfriend. He wanted to go to one last tourney to see everyone before he quit. Originally we both just got spectator passes since we were only going for saturday and he couldn't complete in singles since that was sunday, but one of his friends doubles partner bailed so he filled in. Let's saay, since he hasn't played in over a year it wasn't the best.. but they didn't completely fail! It was nice seeing everyone again since  I havn't seen any of them since the tourney in Michigan in November. I also met a lot of new people which was nice.

Today didn't go as planned. We intentionally intended to go to the zoo, but when we woke up it was raining. So we checked the weather and sure enough it said it was gonna thunderstorm aallll day. Off to the science center we went instead. About an hour later.. it stopped raining and it wasn't seen again all day. It was quite upsetting as I was really excited to see the pandas but, they will be there for more time to come. At the science center they had a videogame room with over 150 playable games with everything imaginable! It was so much fun, kinda like a free giant arcade. After that we went to the IMAX and saw born to be wild. It talked about two females one who took care of orphaned elephants and another who cared for orphaned orangutans and then returned them to the wild when they were capable of taking care of themselves in the wild. Later we grabbed lunch and wandered around all the exhibits until it was time to go home. All in all it was a good weekend and hopefully more adventures to come!

Pictures soon!

Rainy Days

Ahh, another rainy day in ontario today. Not what I wanted at all, I just want the warm weather where I can wear shorts and go to the beach. On the plus side this weekend is supposed to be nice so off to Toronto I go with my lovely boyfriend and his family. I'm quite exited shopping, video game tourney and the zoo! First things I'm gonna see the pandas! sooo excited pandas are my absolute favorite animal!

On another note it looks like it's almost time for me to get a car! Dad and I went test driving and test drove a RAV4 and a Matrix. Loved them both but Matrix is more our size so I guess I'll have to wait till next week to discover what new car will end up in our laneway!
