Day 1!

We had a late start, work up at 6 but we never left until 8, we weren't as prepared as we thought we were. So when we got to Michigan we started driving for Illinois where we went to Joliet. We wanted to drive on Route 66 until we got to new mexico so we decided to start there. It was a bit hard to follow it since we didn't have a map and not all of the road was there but we managed. We stopped in a lot of small towns like Dwight, Pontiac, Funks Grove, Atlanta and ended up staying the night in Springfield.
While driving along Route 66 just past Atlanta where was the brightest double rainbow I've ever seen. It was simply beautiful!

Busy, Busy.

I know I haven't posted in a while! It's been so busy D: I'm all the way in New Mexico now! So let me keep you updated a bit.  So far my highlights have been feeding alpacas, following a bit of Route 66 and climbing Wheelers Peak the highest point in New Mexico. I forgot to bring my chord for my camera so all picture will have to wait until I return home. I'll be putting my days in separate posts so you can follow them better so keep updated!

Tomorrow's The Day!

Tomorrow is the day that I leave for two weeks to New Mexico! I'll be updating this blog everyday to share with you all my adventures! I don't even have to worry about my fish this time as my dad's friend will be living in our house while we are away to take care of them and so he can do is paperwork in peace.

We intend to follow Route 66, well the best of our abilities to whats left of it anyways, all the way to New Mexico. We have lots of sight seeing things to do along the way and cute diners to eat at so I'm super excited.

On my last night here I'm off the movies to see Monsters University with some co workers! I've wanted to see this movie since I heard it was coming out. Oh, how I love kids movies.

My fish like bread?

Today after I got home from work I decided to make myself a chicken sandwich. When I opened up the bread and took a slice it was torn in half with the middle taken out of it. I questioned my dad about it and he said he wanted to see if the fish liked bread, so he took out the center of the slice and put the rest back into the bag. They must like it because they ate it all up! What he intends to do with the rest of the bread, I have no idea. Maybe he'll feed it to them on another day.

My life at work.

I thought I'd enjoy a nice day off work today, but like every day I got called in. I decided to go since I only had 4 shifts this week and I'd be away for most the summer so..why not, right? Anyways, I work in fast food and it sucks. Making pitas and pouring coffee for the Timmies addicts, not the best time of my life. Only upside is that I love my co workers and we like to have fun. Tonight I found a box that used to hold cloths which had a hole at the front of it. I decided it would be fun to put it over my head, pretend I was an astronaut  and that it was my space helmet. My co worker covered the hole with saran wrap to make it look more "realistic".  Needless to say it was a failed effort.

I know it's bad to text at work, but aslong as we get our work done it's not too bad! My boyfriend decided to text me about his "past life", he had quite the story. I told him to be careful since he has lots of scars he recently got from burning himself on the oven or cutting himself doing dishes. ( He was doing dishes and a glass broke and cut through his finger.) He claims that they are "battle wounds" from his past life. I think he watches too much Tobuscus.

Speaking of injuring yourself, I'm always on grill at work because I don't have to talk to people and I enjoy it. I messed up the nerves in my middle finger on my left hand from holding the paddles, not really sure how I managed to do that. But last week I managed to burn my pinky while I was cleaning the grill and it really hurt. Every day we have a new goal for individuals in order to earn points where we can exchange for free meals or gift cards, mine today was to not burn myself on the grill.

Day at the beach!

Today I went to the beach for the first time this year and we were the only people in the water. It's almost July and it still felt like we were swimming in ice cold water. Regardless we wanted to pretend it was summer weather and went in anyways. But not for too long! Half an hour later we got back out and set search for lunch. We went to a restaurant called Jalapeno's and it was delicious. We shared poutine, crazy cries and tacos.

Later we walked down the street and went shopping I just got a pair of flip flops since a cat decided to attack mine and leave lovely bite marks all over them haha. We headed back for the beach where we went in for a few minutes, it wasn't so cold but still cold enough not many people were in. Oh well, maybe another time it will finally warm up and it will be more enjoyable!

Drink, drank, drunk.

Trying new things is something I love to do especially when it comes to food and drinks. Two drinks I've tried this week are two drinks I think I can manage without drinking again. The first one is an Arizona drink which my boyfriend got me hooked on. 99 cents for a giant drink? I think that's a good deal. I loove mangos and I saw a flavour called "Mucho Mango" which I haven't seen around before so I decided to give it a go. On my first sip it had a really weird taste and an even weirder aftertaste. I cannot explain it but it did not taste like mango, unfortunately. It wasn't what I was expecting but It was still enjoyable. (:

The second drink I tried was tonight when I went to work and discovered we had a new flavour of smoothie can't remember the name of it but it was made of cucumbers, pineapples and honey dew with lemon juice, lime juice and pineapple juice. Needless to say, not a very common smoothie. Being adventurous I decided to give it a go. First sip and I wasn't impressed, you have to be a lover of cucumber to enjoy this one, it's about all you can taste. After a couple sips I decided I couldn't drink it and passed it on to someone else. It wasn't a drink for me but if you like cucumbers definitely try it out, it's very healthy for you! (:
